Definitely a must play. The main problem I have with the game is the moons. This is done by pressing the Y button and hold it, this will force Cappy to stay in one place for a few seconds. Styling with Mario becomes fluid and very fun after a while. This game is just straight up, classic Nintendo fun! Such a great game. It’s quite a feat considering there’s a ton of things to do and collect in the game.

Mario Galaxy 1 and 2 were both great, but they weren't so much a sandbox like Mario 64. Music is amazing. Oh, well. A great mario experience that gets dragged down by the music and bosses.

I 100% recommend this game.

The game flows so well when collecting Moons in each hub world. But I think the thing that sets it apart from 64 (and this is pretty obvious) is Cappy. Not only can you capture enemies (which can help you get more moons) but he adds a ton of new moves that Mario can perform.The one problem I have with this game is if you 100% complete this game like I did not only can it get kind of old at the final moons, but if you get every moon and start a new game, it is not nearly as fun as the first playthrough since you have no new moons to discover.

But that some part of the fun and you are going to master the techniques better after the main story. By diving in the direction of where Cappy is floating, players can land on the hat and be allowed another dive. I know Mario games are not known for having compelling stories, but I think it's about time the old plumber gets one. An incredible, dominant title, taking the series back to where it was most recently in the Mario Galaxy days. It makes you think about Mario Odyssey in a way that makes it much more fun. The bosses aren't over difficult. With a deft toss of his new demonic friend Cappy, he’s able to rob any being of their faculties. We breezed through the Sand Kingdom and Lake Kingdom.

Super Mario Odyssey is only 15 hours long. Before I played this game, I always felt just a little disappointed with the recent entries in the Mario franchise. Really innovative though with the hat theme. Super Mario Odyssey provides players with an assortment of different movement options. I mean, if you rush through it. After completing story mode you can make your way to bonus worlds if you go back and search for moons in previous levels. Possibly the pinnacle of the series. Was fun enough to do almost every bit of content the game had to offer.

Never before have I felt so compelled to speedrun areas. It was pretty fun, and I completed main story but IDC to 100% it. There is really no limit to how much time you can spend in this game.

Discussion I've just 100%'d the game (999 moons, all purple coins, costumes and hats) and my game time clocked in at 35 hours. Is it somewhere in menu? It just begs to be 100% completed, and it is a thrill through and through, The game was great, colorful, fun (and addicting), Pretty great Mario game.

Definitely one of those games where even after you've done it everything, sometimes you just boot it up just to run around.

I haven't played too many of the newer 3D mario games leading up to this but I wanted to give this game a try.

Mario. But the way they did the moons was very good. Completionists, this will probably be the most fun you have 100%ing a game. This game is full of open exploration as you travel to obtain moons to power your ship and keep sailing to rescue Peach from Bowser. There is so much content in this game, it will definitely keep me busy for a long time.

Controls are still not as good as Mario 64s but comes close. Got me back into Mario for sure.

This game does just about everything right and then some. After you finish the main game...it will pull on your heartstrings if you grew up playing Mario 64. I wasn’t ever buying the game, so it doesn’t matter to me. Im 3 hours into the game and Ive already given it a tie for Game of the Year, along with BotW. This game is simply a joy to play, and anyone who likes video games can pick it up and have fun with it. The game gives off a strong first impression, as it has both the most fluid and also most flexible movement of any 3D Mario game.

The timer is an estimate, collected 315 moons before the credits kicked in. The new mechanics introduced with Cappy are essential to gameplay (unless you are interested in minimum capture routes), and is easily adopted into the game. We’re not willing to put thousands of hours in, because frankly, we’re not that committed to the gag. For me it's a good thing that this wasn't another 100+ hour adventure because I just got Doom, I'm still going through Fire Emblem Warriors, and Xenoblade 2 is around the corner. Do replay this game in the future if you want a fun, good game to play that you don’t have to concentrate to much on or get stressed about. I played this once and enjoyed my time with it, but never felt the need to come back to it.

Who knew being ethical would make us feel good? The controls of this game are perfect; moving feels so good, and the introduction of Cappy revolutionizes Mario's arsenal of movement so naturally.

Great addition to Mario. It's absolutely hilarious. The puzzles are clever but not too hard. Giving Mario a ranged option in combat and opening up access to seemingly inaccessible locations.

I loved playing through the game and thought it was a great entry in the series but I find that it is a little overrated and isn’t the masterpiece everyone claims it is. I also made sure to complete the purple coin collectibles, outfits, capture list and music list. All the latest gaming news, game reviews and trailers. What sort of occult ritual enables this, no doubt aided by oversized, spotted mushrooms, we’re not sure. It looks great, and every Goomba and Dry Bones will know just how awesome you are.
