Kevin Davies is the founding editor of Bio-IT World and Nature Genetics, and the author of The $1,000 Genome (Free Press, 2010), an account of the revolution in DNA sequencing technologies, personal genomics, and personalized medicine. Davies was born and raised in London, England and is a dual citizen of Great Britain and the U.S.A. James E. Birren Chair in Gerontology His laboratory is involved in biochemical, molecular biology, and genetic studies of both normal aging processes, and aging pathologies such as cardiovascular, Alzheimer and Huntington diseases and sarcopenia. Kevin Davies currently works at the Department of Chemistry and Physics, Florida Gulf Coast University.

In 1992, he was appointed editor of Nature’s first spin-off journal in 20 years, Nature Genetics.
