The Wurundjeri Land Council has a number of different roles: The Victorian Government has granted land of cultural significance for the Land Council to manage.
Resistance was broken, and settlements throve. They had no metal or glass until settlers arrived in the 1830s, and they adopted the new materials for utensils, tools and weapons, including guns and knives. Bebejan was a Ngurungaeta of the Wurundjeri people and was present at John Batman's "treaty" signing in 1835. The Wurundjeri Willum people have a strong connection to the land now known as the City of Whittlesea.

The two moeity totems of the Wurundjeri people are Bunjil the Eaglehawk and Waang the Crow.
